11 Tips And Tricks for Those Who Wear Glasses

For those who aren't gifted with 20/20 vision, normal everyday life can suddenly become a troublesome affair.
If you wear glasses you know these problems very well. Finding your glasses case is hard and stopping your lenses from clouding over is even harder.

Luckily, there are some tips and tricks to make each day more bearable as a four-eye:

1. FINDING YOUR GLASSES IN THE DARK

Apply a small strip of glow in the dark paint or fluorescent on your glasses or glasses case to easily find it in the dark

2. WIPING THE LENSES

The best fabric to dry clean your glasses is Microfiber. It doesn't scratch the lenses and neither does it accumulate grime. Never wipe your lenses with your shirt scam or sleeve. They'll leave tiny scratches that will create an additional burden for your eyes.

3. MAKE SURE YOU WASH YOUR MICROFIBER CLOTHES TOO! A DIRTY ONE WON'T GET THE JOB DONE

Dump the dirty microfiber clothes in a bowl of warm water with mild detergent and hand wash them thoroughly.

4. WASHING THE LENSES

Dishwashing liquid is perfect for lenses. Don't use cleansers containing Alcohol, Vinegar, Ammonia, or Bleach as these substances deteriorate the protective coating of the lenses.

5. KEEP YOUR GLASSES FROM FOGGING UP WITH A BIT OF SHAVING CREAM

Clouding over or fogging up is one of the biggest problems for those who wear glasses. Clean your glasses with shaving foam every time it gets dirty. This works because the soap (which is really what does the job—any soap will do, shaving cream is just easiest to use) creates a protective film on the glass that keeps it from fogging. It works on car windscreens too!

6. USE TOOTHPASTE TO GET RID OF SCRATCHES ON YOUR GLASSES

Use cotton or soft wool cloth with a little non-abrasive toothpaste to quickly buff away scratches on eyeglasses. Rub the lens gently, moving the cloth in small circles. Continue this motion for around ten seconds. Rinse with cold water and wipe dry.

For a very stubborn scratch, you may have to repeat the process. Continue until the scratch is completely removed. If you have an anti-scratch coating on your eyeglasses, you may have to rub this off completely first. This will not damage the lens but will make it more difficult to get to scratch.

7. TO PREVENT YOUR GLASSES FROM SLIPPING WHEN YOU'RE SWEATY, APPLY SOME WAXLIKE NERDWAX

Nerdwax is a beeswax and coconut oil-based blend of all-natural and organic ingredients in a lip balm-sized tube that you apply to the pads or bridge of your glasses to prevent slippage.

8. GLASSES ARE NOT A HAIRBAND

Don't use your spectacles as a hairband. The frame will lose its shape and start falling off. The glasses will also get covered with the oil or any hair product that you use and dirt from your hair. When washing your face and in other situations when you don't use your glasses, better just take them off.

9. NOSEPIECES

To adjust the nosepieces put your glasses on an even surface to see how they look compared to each other.

10. FOR DRIVERS

A piece of advice for drivers, don't leave your plastic glasses on the dashboard in direct sunlight. Heating up the lenses may lose shape or even pop. It's best to store your spectacles in the glove compartment in a special pocket.

Now you know how to make your life with spectacles easier. In most cases, the problem with eyesight is connected with stress and overworking. So try to avoid those too.
